Optimised Design of Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Machines for Household Appliances

This paper is focused on the design, optimisation and control of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine (PMaSynRel) for low cost high efficiency household appliances, in particular motor washing machine. The design aims at maximising torque produced power factor, while minimise oscillations losses, thus improving efficiency. A campaign tests has been carried out prototype optimised machine, comparing finite element results experimental measurements as validation proposed design. In addition, ripple are confirming that solution meeting targets. outcomes this project demonstrating PMaSynRel drives suitable candidate white goods sector, able to boost performance class with respect state-of-the-art solutions.
